This term we have looked at two famous artists connected to hot countries and the rainforest. Henri Rousseau who painted jungle pictures even though he had never been to one and Frida Kahlo.
Frida was a Mexican artist who due to a severe accident taught herself to paint in bed. We found out about her fascinating life and looked at lots of her paintings, she is very famous for her self portraits. She painted herself looking very serious, often with rainforest animals and plants behind and around her.
Great Bear Class wrote poems about Frida's life and then painted themselves in her style. They are simply amazing and I feel look very accomplished for children of their age. But I am biased!
Here are just a few photos that don't really do them justice. Amazing learning!
