Firstly, if you are reading this, thank you! I really love blogging and think it is a great way to communicate between school and home but sadly it is not read as much as I would like sometimes.
I haven't sent home any home learning but I would love lots of phonics practise please! Please look at my previous phonics home learning post for links directs to resources you could use.
Have a lovely break.
Kind Regards
Mrs D.

Bean Planting
Great Bear Class have planted their beans in the school garden! We are looking forward to watching them grow and maybe even being able to pick beans from them one day.
Sadly, Mrs Dummett hadn't charged the camera so these are the only photos we have.

Sports Day
What a super Sports Day! I had a lovely time and I know Great Bear did too, we hope you felt the same. It was so relaxed and the weather certainly helped too. Sadly my photography skills are not up to moving images of children running! But here are the House Teams as best as could capture them, with the sun in their eyes!
This Week's In The Spotlight Speakers
We have been developing our questioning this week, which has been super. We are trying to use our questions to find out more about the speaker and their chosen item.

Phonics Home Learning Links
With the Phonics Check fast approaching and our extended half term, I have put together some bits that might help phonics home learning at home. Our phonics sessions have several quick games and activities in to keep the pace and focus up. I would recommend about 10 minutes a day, this would be the perfect amount to keep interest and learning levels up.
Phonics Bloom- free website with good explanations on how to use the resources and what the games do to support learning.

Sparklebox-free downloadable resources to print. This link takes you to the main phonics page but you can search for resources too.

This website has the games we use the most, Buried Treasure, Dragon's Den and Picnic on Pluto. The games are free but there is a subscription element too, you won't need this to access the games we play.

Our Brilliant day at Rowdefield Farm
Great Bear Class had a super day at Rowdefield Farm on Thursday. We learnt about farming, crops, dairy cows and eggs. We all tried milking a cow, we managed to collect nearly 2 liters! We also held newborn goslings.
Then we spent time meeting and feeding the animals. It was a great afternoon!
I took lots and lots of photos! These ones are during our time in the classroom. I will post our time with the animals separately.
