A Quick Reminder

Hope you have all had a lovely Half Term, I have. I just wanted to quickly remind you about Great Bear's Parents and Carers meeting on Wednesday 8th November from 3.30 pm, there will be a creche available for children and their siblings.

This will give us a chance to meet before parent's evening and talk about a range of things but most importantly The National Year One Phonics Check.

Monday Visitors!

During our last day of this term we had lots of visitors! Both Year 5 and Year 6 came to visit us, read and played and had a lovely time!

This weeks In The Spotlight!

We have had a super time this term listening to each other, the talks have been so varied and interesting. We are looking forward to starting all over again next term!

An Invitation to all Great Bear's Parents and Carers

Dear Parents and Carers,

I would very much like you to join me for a meeting on Wednesday 8th November from 3.30 pm until around 4 pm, in Great Bear Class. A creche will be available for children and their siblings.

I would like to chat to you about Great Bear Class in general, reading, Home Learning etc as we didn't have a "Meet The Teacher" this year and whilst I do know some families, a lot of us are new to each other and things do change from one year to the next.

It will also be a good opportunity to talk about the National Phonics Check that takes place every June and concerns Year One children across the country. Talking about it now means we can talk about it during Parents' Evening and we can also start working together now to ensure your child has the best possible chance of securing a pass in June 2018.

Parental engagement and a positive relationship between child, parent and teacher can have an amazing effect on your child's progress.

Friday Treats

We were very lucky to have a treat this Friday, some lovely homemade cakes as a Birthday treat. They were delicious!

This Weeks In The Spotlighters

In The Spotlight is going very well, we love listening to the talks. The children are growing in confidence, they are well prepared and the questions are super too!

Thank you for all your hard work at home, I know these things don't just happen!

Year 5 Buddies

Great Bear Class have been missing their Year Six Buddies and then Year Five asked us if they could become our buddies so we said yes!

They walked to church with us for Harvest Festival and now they are coming to us every week for a reading session.
