On Friday I sent home a list called Year One Common Exception Words. This is just for your reference, I don't wish you to do anything with them at home. You can practice reading them with your child at home and have a go at spelling them too but only if you wish too.
However these are the words your child needs to be able to read and more importantly spell by the end of Year One.
This is the list I am using to set spellings.
Please can I just add, that a year is a long time and there is no rush for your child to learn these spellings. Everyone learns at different rates with none of them being "the best". What is right for your child is the best speed.
Please do pop in and see me if you would like to chat about this further.
